Presiding Judge Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. HSG Joachim Bornkamm will become Chairman of the Brussels module of E.M.B.L.-HSG which is dedicated to Competition Law after his retirement from the German Supreme Court in early 2014. Bornkamm who is also a Professor at the University of Freiburg is one of the most prominent exponents of economic law in Europe.
This year’s Alumni meeting brought us to the capital of France, Paris.
EMBL-HSG Alumna Margret Suckale, Member of the Board of Executive Directors and Industrial Relations Director at BASF SE, has unanimously been elected President of the Society of German Chemical Industry. She is the first woman chairing this powerful association which has roughly 500'000 jobholders. First commentators have called Suckale's appointment an important step towards narrowing the gender gap in top corporate positions.
